Binance’s Token Burn Event
Today, the cryptocurrency community witnessed one of the most substantial token burn events as Binance burned 4.17 billion Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) tokens, bringing the total number of tokens burned by the exchange to over 56 billion. The Terra Luna community had previously committed to burning large numbers of LUNC tokens to boost the price, and Binance has demonstrated continuous support for the Terra ecosystem under the leadership of its new CEO, Richard Teng. In addition to token burning, Binance has engaged in various initiatives to support the Terra Luna Classic ecosystem.
According to the announcement, “The 20th version of the LUNC burn initiative by Binance resulted in the elimination of around 350 million tokens, representing trading fees collected from February 29 to March 30.”
After the token burn event, the prices of LUNC and USTC experienced a significant increase, with LUNC rising by 3% and trading at $0.000153. It is evident from the overall trend that investor interest in the token has been renewed, and in the long run, Terra Luna tokens are expected to experience upward movement.
