Has Cardano Died? Discovery of 74% Lifeless Coins Revealed

Cryptocurrency analyst Altcoin Buzz has brought attention to certain concerns in the crypto world, with a particular focus on Cardano (ADA). Despite ADA’s impressive price surge since October 2023, climbing from 24 cents to almost 74 cents, there are underlying issues that need to be addressed.

Cardano has always been a subject of discussion and has often been criticized for its lack of self-promotion compared to other crypto projects. Additionally, its approach tends to be somewhat isolated. However, a new criticism has emerged, suggesting that Cardano is home to a significant number of “dead coins,” as indicated in a report by Alpha Quest Research.

This report analyzed over 12,000 crypto projects and revealed that nearly two-thirds of the projects initiated during the bull runs of 2020 and 2021 have failed. Cardano and Terra are among the top projects hosting dead coins, which highlights a serious issue within their ecosystems.

To determine a dead coin, the report considered factors such as low trading volume, inactive social media accounts, defunct websites, and delisting from CoinMarketCap. The fact that 74% of Cardano ecosystem projects are classified as dead is a concerning statistic.

Furthermore, the report noted that the average lifespan of a crypto project is approximately 2.21 years, with a significant percentage failing within the first six months or one year.

Despite these challenges, there are positive aspects within the Cardano ecosystem, such as thriving projects like Wanchain that actively contribute to the network’s growth. ADA’s price performance has also been impressive, experiencing a substantial increase over the past year.

However, it is crucial to consider the implications of hosting numerous dead coins within an ecosystem, as it can impact investor confidence and the overall health of the ecosystem. While Cardano has witnessed substantial growth and has promising projects within its ecosystem, the prevalence of dead coins raises valid concerns about its long-term viability and sustainability.
