Latest Update on Ripple vs. SEC: Imminent Deadlines to Note in XRP Lawsuit

The ongoing legal battle between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been filled with significant events and important deadlines that will shape the future of the case.

Ripple has until April 23 to complete and submit its official response to the SEC’s legal arguments. On April 24, a redacted version of the response, which hides private information, will be shared with the public. This step is part of the court proceedings aimed at safeguarding trade secrets and confidential business data from being disclosed to the public.

On the other hand, the SEC has until May 7 to present its case against Ripple. A redacted version of these documents will be made public on May 8, with certain details withheld.

Both parties have agreed to keep papers related to the remedies aspect of the case confidential. The deadline for submission is May 13. This part of the legal process involves discussing the potential actions Ripple may have to take or the consequences they may face if the court rules against them. Interested parties, apart from the SEC and Ripple, have until May 20 to raise objections to this request for privacy.

In the midst of these legal proceedings, the price of XRP, Ripple’s cryptocurrency, has experienced significant fluctuations, mirroring the volatility of the overall crypto market. Following a recent dip to $0.56, breaking a crucial support level at $0.58, investors are closely monitoring these support levels as they are vital for XRP’s potential recovery. If the cryptocurrency manages to reclaim the $0.60 mark and maintain stability, it could shift the current pessimistic sentiment and possibly target higher support levels.

However, the case involves more than just courtroom arguments. A recent court ruling mandated that Ripple must provide the SEC with specific financial records and contracts with major clients. While some may have expected these documents to be made public, Ripple and the SEC have agreed to keep them confidential and only release them under a protective order.
