Legal Battle Reignited as Montenegrin Court Approves Extradition of Do Kwon

The Montenegrin court has once again granted approval for the extradition of Kwon Do-hyeong, a central figure in the cryptocurrency Terra Luna crash, reigniting the ongoing legal battle surrounding his extradition. This decision comes after the local Supreme Court invalidated the previous ruling, prompting a fresh review of the extradition process.

According to reports from local newspapers, the Podgorica High Court in Montenegro has given the green light for Kwon’s extradition, stating that the necessary legal requirements for extradition to both Korea and the United States have been met. However, the final decision lies in the hands of Justice Minister Andrej Milovic.

“The Podgorica High Court in Montenegro has decided to allow the extradition of Mr. Kwon, stating that the legal requirements for extradition to Korea and the United States have been met,” reported the local newspapers Bjesti and Pobeda.

On the other hand, Kwon’s legal team has the option to appeal the decision within three days. There is speculation that Kwon may be extradited to the United States, given Minister Milovic’s expressed preference for such an outcome.

Kwon’s journey, from his disappearance following the Terra Luna crash to his arrest in Montenegro via the UAE and Serbia, has been a captivating legal drama.

Minister Milovic’s comments regarding the United States as a crucial foreign policy partner may indicate an increased likelihood of Kwon being extradited to the United States.
