Peter Brandt Warns of Potential 15-20% Drop in Bitcoin Price, Raising Concerns
Bitcoin’s price reaching $65,000 today may seem like a cause for celebration, but one analyst is warning of an upcoming correction before it hits a yearly high. Peter Brandt, a legendary trader, has shared his insights on Bitcoin’s recent parabolic run and the potential for a correction in the near future. Brandt believes that price drops in Bitcoin actually present buying opportunities and predicts a 15-20% correction, regardless of volatility.
Brandt supports his projections with a historical analysis, noting that after a bullish rally, financial markets often experience a period of consolidation, and Bitcoin may not be an exception. He points to the “hump dump” movement observed in Bitcoin’s price behavior, where after reaching its All-Time High in November 2021, Bitcoin experienced a significant downturn of 422% in November 2022.
Looking at recent price movements, Brandt identifies “hump slump” and “bump dump” patterns since July 2023. Despite Bitcoin’s current price of around $64,148.78 and positive trading performance, Brandt suggests that a correction may still be on the horizon.
However, Brandt sees Bitcoin’s parabolic run followed by a price drop as an opportunity to buy. He anticipates a correction of around 15-20% after a cool-off period, which could see Bitcoin retesting the $55,000 level. Brandt remains optimistic about Bitcoin’s long-term prospects, citing factors such as the accumulation trend of spot Bitcoin ETFs, halving sentiment, and supply crunch as catalysts that could continue to drive its price higher.
In previous projections, Brandt has forecasted a top of $200,000 for Bitcoin in the current bull cycle, highlighting his bullish stance on the cryptocurrency’s future trajectory.
With the Bitcoin halving approaching in 52 days, some speculate that this surge is just the beginning of a significant bull run. The impending halving, a crucial event in the Bitcoin ecosystem, adds anticipation and could potentially propel the cryptocurrency to new heights.
Peter Brandt’s projections and analyses continue to garner the attention of investors.
