Ripple and Coinbase Receive a Boost as Prominent SEC Lawyer Jumps Ship, Joins White & Case
Former SEC enforcement attorney Ladan Stewart has joined global law firm White & Case as a partner, where she will lead the firm’s new crypto and cyber defense practice. Stewart, who has over two decades of expertise as a civil litigator, recently served as head of the SEC’s specialized crypto and cyber litigation unit, leading lawsuits against industry giants Coinbase and Ripple. White & Case sees Stewart’s addition as a significant asset in the face of increased regulatory scrutiny in the crypto industry. The firm has also welcomed corporate real estate specialist John Cahill as part of its efforts to strengthen key practices, including White Collar. With these strategic hires, White & Case aims to position itself as a leader in legal and financial innovation.
