Ripple and the SEC’s Chief Lawyers Scheduled for Dialogue on Cryptocurrency Regulation Today
Andre Ceresney, Ripple’s lead attorney, is scheduled to engage in a crucial discussion with his SEC counterpart, Jorge Tenreiro, later today. This conversation, titled ‘Government Enforcement in the Cryptocurrency Arena: Where Do Things Stand?’, is part of the Hilibrand Series Panel and aims to shed light on the current state of crypto regulations in the United States.
Joining Ceresney and Tenreiro in this discussion are Claudia Quiroz from the U.S. Department of Justice and David Zornow, an esteemed visiting lecturer specializing in American law. Together, they seek to navigate the complexities of government oversight in the crypto industry.
The legal battle between Ripple Labs and the SEC has been a topic of great interest for years. Recently, lawyer Bill Morgan highlighted that the Coinbase case would not directly impact Ripple’s situation as it pertained to a different aspect of cryptocurrency sales. Additionally, Morgan noted that the SEC appears to have acknowledged that XRP is not a security. This recognition has marked a pivotal moment in cryptocurrency regulation within the United States.
Meanwhile, the entire crypto market seems poised for an impressive bull run, and XRP is not lagging behind. As Bitcoin and Ethereum reach unprecedented heights, XRP has experienced a notable 12% increase in the past twenty-four hours.
Currently valued at $0.701, XRP’s performance on the weekly chart is slightly weaker. However, technical indicators and histograms suggest that the coin’s growth momentum is likely to continue. Furthermore, the significant buying pressure further strengthens the possibility of XRP surpassing the $0.8 mark, or even attaining $1 in the near future.
